A free, accredited drop-in service in Matson also supporting people countywide, 200+ people per year. Support is also provided by phone and online.

Our Advisors provide outreach in 9 Children & Family Hubs and their neighbourhoods across Gloucester and the Forest of Dean.

This project provides Advice outreach to people at GL11 Community Hub in Dursley and All Pulling Together (APT) Community Association in Stonehouse.

Our Advice Worker and two Volunteer Advisors specialise in money advice and housing issues.

A range of projects supporting Veterans to access housing support, education & employment support, digital skills and forming community connections. Our Veterans Support Worker and Digital Inclusion lead draw on wraparound support from across the team and wider partners including armed forces organisations, providing trusted ‘bridge building’ to access support from other agencies in the community.

As a member of the DIGI project, we support Veterans in Digital Skills and as an Affiliate Member of the County-wide Digi-Partnership we host digital drop-ins and workshops in our DigiSuite in Matson, as well as community hub drop-ins in Gloucester.

We provide group and 1 to 1 support for people who wish to take up training or find employment – a recent example being a Customer Service workshop series for people in the local community.

This self-managed community group is hosted at our Advice & Resource Centre. We are also a space to meet or a source of advice, for new, self-managing community groups to form.

This project is run with Veterans for Veterans. The Veterans Screening Cancer Awareness Network (V-SCAN) has reached 600 veterans in Gloucester and across the county as part of the County’s Communities Against Cancer scheme.

We host the Forces Hub (FHUB) as their working base, and a weekly modelling group for Veterans supporting mental health, community connections and trusted access to money advice and broader sources of support.

We have 30 volunteers who are part of GL Communities; Welcomers on the reception rota, running the foodbank, Digital Champions, Volunteer Advice Work, the Men’s Shed, Matson Community Gardening Group (The Rose Garden). We have taken feedback about how volunteering supports health & wellbeing and the top 3 benefits were cited as 1) a sense of purpose, 2) community connection/reducing isolation and 3) pride in belonging to GL Communities.

We host the GGT worker who stewards the Growing Space, a three-acre site next to the Gloucester Services. Its purpose is to look after the natural environment and connect workers and local citizens to nature.

We have recently been approved as a selected Barnwood Trust Grant Partner. This unpublicised approval enables us to bring funds directly to individuals with lived experience of disability and mental health challenges. It does not bring grant income to the charity.
