Due to precautionary measures, GL Communities Hubs are part of the community response to COVID-19 in Gloucestershire.

Our phone lines are open 9am-3.00pm Monday to Friday.

We offer information and help with benefits, money advice, access to the Gloucester Food Bank, free food, access to a hardship fund, support and access to training and education for those who are long term unemployed and support to those in the community who are lonely and isolated.

We continue to still provide services.

Despite having to close its offices due to Covid-19, we continue to provide many of its services, albeit in some cases via email and phone.

We are renown for providing support to many of the most vulnerable in the community. 

Money Advice Service

The money advice line is busy providing help to people who are in financial difficulties and may need information or help with the benefits currently available.  They are unable to provide face to face contact at present due to social distancing, but instead offer online and phone contact via the following:

Employment and Training Support (GEM Gloucester)

We are part of the GEM project which seeks to provide opportunities for those furthest from the job market to upgrade their skills and build their confidence.

The GEM project is continuing to provide services and is developing a wide range of online opportunities.

Community Development and Support

We also offer services via its workers on the ground including the Loop Project, Time to Shine Leader and Gateway. These staff are busy delivering food, prescriptions, activities for children and making referrals where needed, also developing a network of street reps.  Staff work in the Matson, Robinswood, White City areas in Gloucester and in Stonehouse Stroud.  We are also supporting staff in the Podsmead Big Local who are covering Podsmead with similar services.
