This is a prime example of what can be achieved by working together in a common aim to help and assist residents in this area of high deprivation. Encouraging the local community to come together to support each other while developing links and knowledge within the area. The staff here, at this community hub assist anyone who enters seeking a welcoming place to get advice or help being signposted on.
The Café offers a safe environment for its customers to come and have reasonably priced drinks and snacks however this is not the only feature the Café boasts. It offers customers the opportunity to use; laptops for job searches, self-assessments for benefits, get information on utility bills and so much more.
The Gateway also advertises jobs in its window that are posted each week. This is to help those possibly on benefits to look for employment as well as offering a drop-in by the Money Advice team, to help with debts, benefit and budgeting support.
The Gateway customers are also able to access the telephone for any emergencies as well as calls for jobs, utility bills and benefit help and support.
